Because native bees are small and quick, they are often underobserved. Researchers lack data on many native bee species, preventing them from determining the conservation status of each species.

The goal of this project is to enlist the help of community scientists to observe as many native bee species as possible during the window of May 16 to May 24, 2026, and post those pictures to iNaturalist. Bees will not be collected, as this is a photography only project.
