Patricia Simpson leads native plant propagation and habitat restoration efforts at Cabrillo National Monument (CNM, San Diego, CA). She has been studying native bees through the community science lens for almost a decade. In 2021, she helped create community science- lead monitoring efforts at CNM, under the direction of Dr. Keng-Lou James Hung. Patricia is very thankful for her dedicated team of “Beeple”, who have patrolled the park’s trails for the last five years in search of flowering plants and native bees. She is a graduate of The Bee Course 2025 (thebeecourse.org) and is very honored to join others on the CalNBS Board.
